Communicating with the Anima
with Kym Swan
Animal communicator Kym Swan will offer the tools for communicating with not only animals but also tree and rock spirits. She will first go through the how, why and when to get participants communicating with animals, before moving into a woodland setting for connections with rocks and trees.
Kym is the founder of Untangled Whispers working in the realms of animal communication, reiki, integrated energy therapy and celebrancy. The shamanic path has called to Kym and she has been treading the wilds for the last three years whilst currently training to become a soul midwife.
Find Your Inner Dancer
with Anne Kingston
Back by popular demand, Anne Kingston will use African and Middle Eastern rhythms with free flow dance movement to get bodies moving in fun and creativity. She promises a few surprises in the mix.
Anne is a dance teacher with a life-long interest in holistic dance movement and Middle Eastern dance, which she has taught for over 20 years. Last year she further qualified as a Body Groove facilitator.
Healing The Ancestors
with Jacqui Crooks
We are all, says Jacqui Crooks, carrying ancestral baggage which is no longer useful to us. In this workshop she will help participants to recognise that some of the biggest blocks to happiness stem from the past. Releasing them frees us to be more ourselves and gives us a chance to reflect on our own life, from our own perspective.
Jacqui is a pioneer in energy psychology, an international speaker and trainer, an EFT founding master and one of the authors of EFT and Beyond. After training in EFT, NLP and hypnosis she created her unique way of working which allows deep change quickly and easily without trauma.
The Nature of Fellfoot Wood
with Sam Turner
This guided walk will be led by ecologist Sam Turner, who will guide walkers on an exploration of the intricate ecosystem of this beautiful woodland. She will offer insight into the natural history of the place, the stories, the spiritual connections and a glimpse into the story of the land itself.
Sam has always loved the natural world and learning about wild plants and animals is a big part of her life, both working as an ecologist and in her spare time. She has a particular love of the Lake District which she has known most of her life.
Woman's Journey to Heal Herself
with Carole Prestedge, Kathy Burrage and Anne Jackson
This workshop will take place in the women’s only space of the beautiful red tent.
Led by Carole Prestedge, Kathy Burrage and Anne Jackson this session will be based loosely on the book Circle of Stones by Judith Duerk and will ask the question: "How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you, a place for you to go to be with your mother, with your sisters and the aunts, with your grandmothers and the great and great great grandmothers, a place of women to go, to be, to return to, as women? How might your life be different?"
Honouring Creiddylad - the ancient British goddess of May
with Lorna Smithers
Lorna Smithers will lead this tribute to Creiddylad, who is associated with love and fertility, which includes learning about her story, a guided meditation to meet her and creating poems in her honour, which will be read aloud to mark her return from the Otherworld, bringing life to the land.
Lorna Smithers is a poet, author, awenydd, Brythonic polytheist, and devotee of Gwyn ap Nudd. She has published three books: Enchanting the Shadowlands, The Broken Cauldron, and Gatherer of Souls. She writes and edits for Gods & Radicals and blogs at Signposts in the Mist.
Time on the Ground
with Rita Albanese
This session will get participants closer to the ground, to reconnect with its healing power. Rita Albanese points out that our modern lifestyles have disconnected us from time close to the ground, leading to ill health. She aims to restore a little of this connection that our ancestors would have had daily, whether it was sitting around a campfire, beading in a circle, crouching on a hunt, or sleeping.
Rita is a nurse by background, a shamanic practitioner and life coach. Her inspiration comes from engaging with the natural environment in a variety of ways, embracing nature’s power to heal and bring about change for herself, her clients and for the earth.
with Amy Boud
Outdoor and creative practitioner Amy Boud will lead once again this foray into singing and making music from our authentic wild selves, tapping into the music and rhythm of the more than human world. This session will be fun and creative, playing with the sounds we can make with our voices and bodies, tuning into the sounds of the world around us, and singing outside in different locations with, and to, the other beings that inhabit the land. Not suitable for children under 14.Tribal Gathering
Amy will also lead this family workshop, where participants will prepare a celebration together that includes a feast of foraged materials, painting faces, making costumes, and finding natural musical instruments, before gathering around the fire to make wild music together.
with Simon Hathaway
Simon Hathaway will lead this session where he will teach how to practise this ancient art which aims to broaden our perspectives so we can see things as they really are, by seeing ourselves as we truly are, resulting in true happiness.
Simon started practising Zen, with his teacher Boo Ahm, in Korea in 2010, establishing Zen Fools in the Lake District five years later. They now have a have a growing following throughout the UK, Korea and beyond.
Weeds and Wild Medicine
with Edwina Hodkinson
Herbalist Edwina Hodkinson will lead this herb walk, identifying, learning about and exploring local medicinal plants and how to use them for healing.
Plants will be harvested to make a herbal medicine.
Edwina Hodkinson is a medical herbalist and full member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. She has been a health care practitioner for the last 34 years being an ex ward sister, aromatherapist, clinical reflexologist and healer.
Dance Your Own Tune
with Christine Lynne
This workshop is an exploration of body, mind and soul through movement and dance. Christine Lynne will help participants to connect to energy centres from within and around, exploring through silence, through stillness, through sound and music. Both the conscious and unconscious movements of our bodies help us reveal a better understanding of ourselves.
Through the freedom of expression of dance Christine found her true self and this was revealed more and more through dance, music movement, meditation and various other ancient wisdoms.
Morning Gong Baths
with Liz and Chris Whittal-Hill and Avril Banks
There will be the opportunity to start each day by drifting through the early morning energies to a beautiful sound bath. This is a powerful meditative experience and sessions can include gongs, drums and singing bowls. This is a perfect opportunity to get some personal space and set your intentions for the day.
They will be offered by Liz and Chris Whittall-Hill, who run the Harmony Hub Holistic Community Centre in Chorley and offer Gongs Baths as well as individual therapies, and Avril Banks.
with Danny English
Joining us once again this year with a popular selection of workshops for children will be Danny English, unleashing the imagination in a whole series of activities around creating from nature, in nature, including crafting dreamcatchers, crowns, necklaces and magical wands.
Danny is the director and founder of CommuniTree, a NFP social enterprise in Greater Manchester who reconnect people of all ages with nature. He is a passionate advocate of outdoor learning and experiential education.
Dreamcatchers and Prayer feathers
with Morrigan Rheged
Morrigan Rheged will offer two workshops, enabling participants to make their own dream catchers and prayer feathers with natural and up-cycled materials.
Morrigan has followed the old way for 35 years of which crafting is an important part. She makes her own tools, honouring her ancestor’s work with the materials she uses.
with Nicola Smalley or Amy Boud
This will be a morning welcome at the Earth Mother altar led by Nicola Smalley or Amy Boud. Participants will sing in the new day with chants and are invited to offer their favourites. Drums and rattles are encouraged.
Introduction to Shamanic Journeying
with Nicola Smalley
Nicola Smalley will lead this session which is ideal for those who are new to shamanism, or who want to go over the basics of again. The workshop will touch on the history of shamanism and what it is, before going on a journey to explore the other worlds.
The Healing Power of Trees
with Nicola Smalley
The wisdom and healing properties of trees will be the focus of this session, led by Nicola Smalley who will draw on a variety of techniques including shamanic journeying and divination using the Celtic Tree Ogham.
Says Nicola: “We notice the immediate shift in our energy when we are in the presence of trees. It is as if they speak to our soul in some secret, knowing way.”
The Ancestral Diet
with Nicola Smalley
The dawn of agriculture 10,000 years ago turned our natural way of eating on its head, as our ancestors switched from a diet of meat, nuts, berries and leafy plants. In this workshop Nicola Smalley will explain how going back to this Paleolithic diet has transformed her health, and her life, and why this is. The session will include a shamanic journey to meet a guide to help participants see the next step towards better health.
Nicola Smalley is a shamanic practitioner and chartered environmentalist supporting people and communities in making the transition to the ‘new Earth’. With her husband Jason, she runs shamanic drumming circles, sabbat celebrations, spiritual development retreats and online courses.
The Magic of Words
with Jason Smalley
This poetry-in-the-morning session is time to ignite your inner bard. Led by Jason Smalley, the workshop will begin with a reading of some inspirational poems, before participants are sent on a creative journey to see what emerges from within.

Jason Smalley will lead this tribal time – an hour of pure drumming in the sacred Yew Tree Grove, allowing participants to drift into a trance state with the repetitive beat of the drum.
Reclaiming the Masculine
with Jason Smalley
As our worldview changes and the patriarchy becomes the scapegoat for all the wrongs and abuses meted out on humanity, how can an awakening man reclaim a strong hold on his personal power?
Join Jason Smalley to explore this and other dynamite topics in a men-only workshop.
Divination with the Runes
with Jason Smalley
This session will be led by Jason Smalley who, using a Northern connection technique, will journey through the world tree of the Norse culture and consult the rune staves to see the ephemeral shadow of what the future may hold.
The Viking way of connecting with the ancestral rhythms that spin the thread of what may be from the web of infinite possibilities will be honoured.
A Chakra Journey of Self Expression
with Silke Harvey
This workshop with Silke Harvey will take participants on a journey through their chakras and will include spoken word, drumming, oracle cards and crystals, experimenting with native instruments and finally self expression of their journey through painting. This will be offered at the beginning and the end of Space to Emerge, giving an opportunity to arrive and a time to leave.
Silke is a reiki master and chakra dancing and creative mindful meditation therapist, as well as a professional musician. She believes that music and energy work is a perfect combination to create wellbeing.
