During this workshop we will be doing a herb walk, identifying, learning about and exploring local medicinal plants and how to use them for healing. We will also be harvesting plants to make a salve that will be available for you to take home and use if you bring a small pot or container.
Edwina Hodkinson is a qualified Medical Herbalist and full member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. She has been a health care practitioner for the last 34 years being an ex ward sister, Aromatherapist, Clinical Reflexologist and healer. She has a passion for local wild medicines believing that Herbal Medicine is the people’s medicine and it is through reconnecting with our local wild medicines and bringing herbs back to the forefront of healthcare that we reduce our dependence on pharmaceuticals and reclaim control of our health and well being.
For the last three years she has been involved in running regular community clinics on anti-fracking sites and homeless squats as well as having a busy private practice in Bury and Bolton. She also runs regular courses, workshops and herb walks in Lancashire as well as contributing to regular articles in magazines on wild medicine and herbal activism.
